Founder & President

HELLO EVERYONE! I am Sanai Pope, the Founder, and President of The W.O.K.E Society! I am a junior at Grayson High School, and I am very passionate about equality for all people. I started The W.O.K.E. Society to provide a platform to reach as many young women in my community as possible. I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to speak to, inspire, and be inspired by countless young women.

For the members of W.O.K.E, I want everyone to realize that you are ENOUGH, and that you MATTER!! And to my fellow sisters, come join us on our journey to finding our true selves, and loving ourselves more than we ever have before!! Stay W.O.K.E!!

Vice President

Hey! I’m Kennedy Johnson. I am currently a junior at Grayson High School, and I am the Vice President of The W.O.K.E. Society. I love fashion, art, dance, and photography. My career interests are within architecture, law, social media marketing, and entrepreneurship. I am passionate about climate change and the rights of women, Indigenous people, Black Lives Matter and the LGBTQ+ community. In the future I aspire to have a social or political platform to educate and inspire others to use their voices for change.

With W.O.K.E, I want young women to value themselves, feel empowered, and gain confidence. I want our members to realize their self-worth and how important they are to this world. Together, we can break societal norms and take on the world as strong, independent, and successful women!

Chantia Fletcher

Chantia Fletcher

Secretary

Hey! My name is Chantia Fletcher and I am a Junior at Grayson High School. I am the Secretary of The W.O.K.E. Society and I can’t wait to meet all of you and make some of our best memories. I love biology, art, animals, dance, photography, and have recently become interested in law and criminal justice. My goal for members of W.O.K.E. is to help each and every individual realize what they are capable of as women of color. Color is not a curse, but it is a blessing and reminder of just how strong we are as the descendants of those that fought and survived. I look forward to our members’ journeys of self-discovery.

Elise Hunter

Elise Hunter

Social Media Marketing Manager

Hi my name is Elise Hunter, I am a junior at Grayson high school and the head of social media. In the future I hope to have a career in social media marketing as well as learn to be a professional editor and designer. I have been dancing for about 10 years now and absolutely love the art. I will minor in dance, so hopefully it can be a part of my future. W.O.K.E provides a great opportunity for me to learn as well as teach self-confidence to teen girls. I am excited to be a part of an organization that shows that just because you are a young woman, doesn’t mean you can’t live a life of endless possibilities, which includes education. I hope you enjoy this experience as much as I will!!

Treasurer

Hey! I’m Jordan Thybulle, the Treasurer of The W.O.K.E Society, and I am a junior at Grayson High School. I love music, the people I love and cherish, and fashion! In the future, I aspire to be an anesthesiologist because of my passion for science and math. I also care deeply about equality for women, the ongoing Black Lives Matter Movement, and being able to help as many people as I can.
I hope that with W.O.K.E, I can show women the true power they hold within themselves not only by their physical abilities but with the power inside them as well. I also want women to realize how unique they are and realize their self-worth, independence, and strength because we are women of KNOWLEDGE and EMPOWERMENT…we are W.O.K.E!
